Tiny Record Player shows the albums saved in your Apple Music library as records on a shelf. Pull one out to see its sleeve, put it on, and it plays through, in order, with nothing queued behind it. It is made for iPhone Duo and works on every iPhone.
Getting started
- Open the app and allow access to Apple Music when asked. Your saved albums appear as spines within a moment.
- Tap a spine to pull the record out. Tap Play on the sleeve, or the down arrow, which puts the record on the turntable.
- Play, pause and skip from the turntable, the lock screen or your headphones.
Questions
- My shelf is empty.
- Only albums saved to your Apple Music library are on the shelf. Tap the search button, find an album on Apple Music and choose “Put on my shelf”; it joins your library and your shelf at once.
- An album I own is missing.
- Singles are not shown, and neither are small scraps of albums (fewer than three saved tracks that also run under fifteen minutes). Settings has a switch to show everything. If you took a record off the shelf, Settings lists it under “Records off the shelf” with “Put back”.
- A record will not play.
- Most music needs an Apple Music subscription, which comes from Apple; the app offers Apple’s own subscription page when that is the reason. Offline, only albums you have downloaded in Apple Music can play.
- Can I play just one track, or shuffle?
- No. A record plays from the first track to the last. Tap the track count on the sleeve, or the title on the turntable, to see the tracks and jump to one.
- Does it change my Apple Music library?
- Only when you ask it to: “Put on my shelf” adds an album to your library. Taking a record off the shelf hides it in Tiny Record Player only.
- Keep playing the next record.
- Off by default. In Settings, switch it on and the next record on the shelf plays when one ends.
- I’d like a refund.
- Tiny Record Player is bought from Apple, so Apple handles refunds. Sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, choose “I’d like to”, then “Request a refund”, give a reason and pick Tiny Record Player.
